Badam/Almond Milk Bombs

This bomb is the unique and ultimate bomb bringing the all-time Indian favorite drink, badam milk in the form of a bomb!Badam (in Hindi or tamil for almonds) milk is a flavored milk with almonds and is highly aromatic with the added cardamom and saffron. Now imagine this drink in white chocolate shell, incredible, right? It is easy to make too! These are cute and amazing edible gifts too!

Almonds are very healthy and when given in this form, not only adults but kids too will go nuts over this nut based milk bomb! In this form, it is easier to add nutrition to picky eaters!

Almond kheer or almond/badam milk is one of the most popular drink served in many occasions in our homes. It is easier to make too. Store-bought mixes are also available for a quick and easy drink.  MTR Badam Milk Mix (used in this recipe) is very popular and nowadays there are many brands too. This mix can be used, which is basically milk powder, almond powder, cardamom, saffron. This mix can be made at home and used or store-bought ones can also be used. To add little more flavor, try adding Masala Milk Powder Mix in this bomb for extra nutty flavor as it has more nuts.

Good quality white chocolate should be used and I have used Ghirardelli Premium White Chocolate baking bar. These have cocoa butter and add flavor to the drink too! White chocolate chips can also be used, but try to use good quality ones to make smooth shells. A silicone mold with cavity size of 2.5-in is required to make the chocolate shells. If you make bigger shells, adjust accordingly the quantity of badam mix. Try a variation by making milk chocolate or dark chocolate shells. Or even flavor the almond milk mix with chocolate! There are many ways to make this tasty bomb!

Making this bomb is very easy. Just add a bomb to a cup and pour hot milk over it. It is satisfying to see the chocolate melt, releasing the contents. Stir and enjoy every sip of this delicious and rich drink!

Ingredients
Makes 10

White chocolate bar - 8-oz, chopped
Saffron - 2 generous pinch
Badam/almond milk mix - 8-10 tbsp
Pistachios - 1 tbsp, chopped
Dried rose petals - 2 tbsp

For decoration (optional)

White chocolate chips - 2 tbsp
Rose petals or pistachios

Method

Melt the white chocolate using a double boiler. When it almost melted, remove from the double boiler, stir well to get a uniform, smooth, melted chocolate. Add the saffron.

Mix well and pour onto 2.5-in cavity silicone molds. Refrigerate for atleast 30 minutes. Carefully, remove the chocolate shells from the mold and set aside.

Warm a cookie sheet in oven, and rub half the shells to make the edges uniform. Fill with one and a half to two tablespoons of badam milk mix, a couple of pistachio bits, and dried rose petals.

Rub the unfilled shell on warm cookie sheet and the melted chocolate at the edge of the chocolate shell will act as a glue and seal the filled half shell to a sphere. Repeat with the remaing shells.

Melt the chocolate chips in microwave. Add a drop on each bomb. Add pistachios or rose petals for decoration. Store in a cool, dry place until use.

Instructions to make: Add a bomb to a cup, pour a cup of hot milk, stir, and enjoy.
