Kids love candy canes and an icecream made with those delicious candycanes will make kids go nuts! Kidding! They would devour it before you know! This is the bestholiday treat!
This recipe uses regular (red and white) candy canes and not the flavored and colored ones. Big ones or smaller ones can be used in the recipe. The canes are crushed and added so it doesn't matter which one is used, but adjust the count of candy canes for the quantity of crushed ones.
Peppermint extract is used in this recipe to give the extra boost of flavor! Make sure to check the extract when you buy. Peppermint and spearmint extracts may have the mint but the flavors would be altered. The classic peppermint flavor will be gone if you use spearmint and it would be flavored like a bubble gum. Make sure to get the right extract.
