Strawberry Shrikand

Strawberry shrikand is thick yogurt based ultimate dessert or a snack rich in proteins, calcium, and vitamins.

Shrikand is made using hung yogurt to make a creamy dessert, traditionally. It takes time. When we have crunch for time or when we crave, we need a quick fix and this recipe makes yummy shrikand just like the traditional method. Greek yogurt is used instead to make it quickly. Greek yogurt is thick and creamy and hence it is perfect to one which is close to the traditional shrikand.

We often make this version in our home. This can be made in minutes to satisfy the sweet cravings or hunger. I love cardamom and hence added a tiny pinch. This tastes great without it too. This can be served chilled and is a great dessert for parties. This is a healthy snack for summer when you don't want to cook.

May is National Strawberry Month. Kelly is hosting this month's event in our #FoodieExtravaganza group featuring strawberries. I am linking this post for the event. Foodie Extravaganza is where we celebrate obscure food holidays by cooking and baking together with the same ingredient or theme each month. Posting day is always the first Wednesday of each month. If you are a blogger and would like to join our group and blog along with us, come join our Facebook page.

Ingredients
Serves 4

Greek yogurt - 1.5 cups
Strawberries - 1.5 cups, chopped
Powdered cardamom - a pinch (optional)
Powdered sugar - 6 tsp
Pistachios - 3-4 tbsp

Method

Puree the chopped strawberries. It would yield about a cup. Add this to Greek yogurt in a bowl. Add powdered sugar and cardamom(if preferred).

Mix to combine everything. Add 2 tablespoons of toasted and chopped pistachios. Mix and spoon into serving bowls. Top with some pistachios and serve.

Serve.
